We found out this week that we will have to be patient for another 7 weeks. The University of Michigan called this week to set up Trey’s surgery. They are not able to schedule it until the first week of September. We were really hoping to get this taken care of this summer while Trey was out of school, but that is not possible. Trey’s pre-opp appointment is on Tuesday, Sept 4th. They have scheduled the heart cath for Wednesday, Sept 5th. There is a slim chance that during this test, if they confirm that it is a coronary artery fistula and it is small enough, they may be able to put a coil in the fistula which closes it off and prevent surgery. Otherwise the open heart surgery is scheduled for Thursday, Sept 6th.

Trey will miss at least the first week of school and depending on surgery possibly more. Because Trey is a straight “A” student he should have no problem catching back up. Thank you again to everyone who has sent cards and e-mails. We truly appreciate all of the love and support that has been shown. Please continue to keep Trey in your prayers and we will update this sight again the first week of September when we have more information to share with everyone.
